Tim Roth is my favorite actor and has been since Reservoir Dogs. I saw Gridlock'd on Wednesday (The day it came out) and went back and saw it again on Friday. I thought it was excellent. I thought Tim Roth was hillarious. The faces he made were great. Especially when he was talking to the cops and walked by D REPER. That was the best. I would have screwed up a lot more times! ;) i got the latest issue of Interview, and i loved the Tim interview. it helps, after the bad stuff from the AOL stuff, to read the Tim we love... as I said, I saw Gridlock'd... Kristian (my boyfriend) really liked it, too, and he only went because i was driving and i wanted to go, and he knew that if he didn't go, he would be a very unhappy boy until the next time i go to the cities if he didn't keep me happy!!! (winkwink) i loved the movie... it was a beautifully written script and very well acted, especially Tim, but Tupac and Thandie Newton were both really good too... you can tell the parts where Tim learned to play piano for... other times you could tell that he was faking it, becuase of the distance between notes, and the space between his hands... (i'm a piano player) now, i have a question... if someone could email me privately with _how_ to do it, i could make some .wavs of the soundtracks I have, and eventually i could prolly figure out how to do the movies too, i just need to know how... later all anne >From Rothie6058@aol.com Sat Feb 8 22:28:59 1997 Date: Sat, 01 Feb 1997 17:09:05 -0500 (EST) From: Rothie6058@aol.com Reply to: timrothfan@u.washington.edu To: Tim Roth Fans Subject: Tim on AOL again i just found this... on tuesday February 4th, i'm not sure what time, but Tim is going to be in AOL's Celebrity Circle... i don't really know what Celebrity Cirlce is, and i can't type, but i sounds like maybe he;s trying to redeem himself from the last time... i'm going to try to get in, but i only have one access number, and a lot to do at night, but hell if i'm going to miss it!!! please, others, JOIN ME!!! i;ll look for the time... and post again later anne >From Rothie6058@aol.com Sat Feb 8 22:29:01 1997 Date: Sat, 01 Feb 1997 23:31:43 -0500 (EST) From: Rothie6058@aol.com Reply to: timrothfan@u.washington.edu To: Tim Roth Fans Subject: stuff vickie - all i can say hon, is you're a doll... i enjoy sending stuff, knowing it's going to make you guys smile. to whoever it was that wanted the Kevin Spacey version of the Tim Roth is... thing, my server can't handle it, and i may have to send it in pieces, when i finally get around to it... can anyone let me know what's going on with the RothCon? it seems that the conversation about it fizzled out... the picture at celebrity circle *purrs*... that's from the cover of the video box for Captives... a bit of happy news... in June, i get to go see one of my dream musicals... I just found out about and joined the list. In response to a few recent posts: 1. I'm really surprised Tim seemed drunk and/or cranky the last time he was on aol. I heard him talk at UCLA last year (there was a huge and enthusiastic turnout, by the way) and I thought he was charming, intelligent, witty, and very patient with some very stupid questions. (And yes, he is very small. I'm 5' and thin, and he looked like my slightly taller counterpart.) As far as his last time on aol went, maybe he's very sensitive about his nose and the comments put him in a bad frame of mind. I would certainly be unhappy if I was being interviewed and someone commented unfavorably on my nose. 2. The gay thing. To the guys who wanted us all to know that they're straight... Really, who cares? Anyone who puts a lot of importance on surfaces isn't going to be in a newsgroup devoted to the appreciation of a scruffy, undersized, furtive-looking guy (who also happens to be one of the greatest actors of all time, and sexy as hell.) My guess is no one in this group is homophobic. (Although I think someone's guess that gay men don't find Tim that sexy may be on the money. For what it's worth, me and my best friend, a gay man, went to see Gridlock'd, and while he thinks Tim's a terrific actor, he couldn't quite see why I think he's so sexy.) They're fantastic!!! Charles, you said all in: "Nobody does it like you Tim Roth nobody does it like you." Ain't it the truth!!!! I'm dying to find out if Tim changes this time on AOL. I hope someone will take the time to post what happens!! While reading the archives from the mailing list, there have been some people on the list who have met Tim, and what happened on AOL sure didn't seem like Tim. Boy, that burns me if there was a bad comment about his nose on AOL before -- if you ask me, that's one of the most sexy things about him! I'm still not so sure it wasn't an imposter. (I know someone on the list got confirmation that it was Tim -- did they send you the picture yet?) What can I say, I'm jaded. There are lots of guys who look like Tim. I practically have a coniption-fit every time on the subway when I see someone who looks like HIM! Oh well, I'll get off my little podium now. Anyway -- it'll be SO interesting to find out what happens tomorrow night!! Please, Please someone post what happens -- I'm begging!! !! Yes Jason! Isn't Captives great!!!! I'm still waiting, biting my nails for the day the record store says my copy has arrived!!! (I've seen it from Blockbuster rental, but it's so hard to find there, it's almost always checked-out. Gee, I wonder why?!) And thanks Martha for the info on MTV. Maybe I've missed it, but I'll keep Hunter, uh I mean, Hunting for it! BTW -- Does anyone know the name of Tim's 3rd son yet? (Enquiring minds want to know!) And thanks so much to the person who told us about Tim being on E! last Friday evening! (I thought it was only going to be on during the weekend.) And I caught it on Sunday morning -- Yum! Yum!) BTW -- speaking of gay or lesbian -- remember the script early in Gridlock'd: Tim was watching a talk show about men who had a sex change, but now are lesbians. And the time Tim curled-up in the big chair with his cheek on the arm rest?! And the time they showed Tim sleeping with those kissable lips partly open?! BTW -- gay or not it doesn't matter to me either -- just as long as are hearts are with Tim!! Yum! Yum! BTW again -- Did anyone else see previews for Hoodlum before Gridlock'd came up on the big screen?! Hoo-boy! Tim is incredible in ANY role! The man's a genious!! Well take care everyone, and stay Supercool! >From David.Wright@oberlin.edu Sat Feb 8 22:30:06 1997 Date: Tue, 04 Feb 1997 13:02:42 -0400 (EDT) From: David.Wright@oberlin.edu Reply to: timrothfan@u.washington.edu To: Tim Roth Fans Subject: Re: Tim in magazines -Reply > Thanks for all the info David! Gary's new gal is named Fiorentino, but I don't remember her first name (it's NOT Linda Fiorentino, the actress). She is a photographer, apparently not a celebrity, about 10 years younger than Gary. I just saw a notice about it in a column or somewhere -- there wasn't an article. --David >From David.Wright@oberlin.edu Sat Feb 8 22:30:08 1997 Date: Tue, 04 Feb 1997 13:10:27 -0400 (EDT) From: David.Wright@oberlin.edu Reply to: timrothfan@u.washington.edu To: Tim Roth Fans Subject: Re: mindless early morning babble Anne, congratulations on your screenplay!!!! I've been watching for an announcement of this but haven't seen anything. Maybe Tim and Nikki are sort of keeping it quiet, so it can be a more family-type thing. --David >From Michdurham@aol.com Sat Feb 8 22:30:13 1997 Date: Tue, 04 Feb 1997 13:47:46 -0500 (EST) From: Michdurham@aol.com Reply to: timrothfan@u.washington.edu To: Tim Roth Fans Subject: Re: Tim on AOL Hi: Here are the questions I still had in my files. - Michelle ______________________________________ > I have a few questions for him: > > How does he feel knowing he has a whole newsgroup (is that what we are?) > devoted to his every move? > > What is his favourite movie? Funny, but last Wed. the theater was PACKED with people to see Grid. But last Sun. there was only around 15 people in the theater (thought I was in the twilight zone 'til remembering Star Wars was around). I'm so impressed with all the writers on this list!!! I love to write, but just dabble in it. I start out with tons of energy, but then lose interest (not in the fantasy, but in the writing of it), so I don't usually complete it. But hearing about all the writers here is SO inspiring!! I saw Tim a couple of times on the set, but I was never there the days he was filming (I went mostly on weekends) so I never got to shake his hand. (I did make eye contact with him a couple of times---more like Dork Girl staring at him!) I met his son, Jack, who was eating Cheetos out of a styrofoam cup at the time (and dressed exactly like Tim, in baggy pants and a t-shirt). An odd thing did happen though---a friend of mine (more of a friend of a friend) actually got to hang out with Tim his last night in Chicago! They have a mutual friend who is a tattoo artist here and he just introduced TR as "his friend Tim". This friend started telling him about me and how I got into doing make-up and he said he knew who I was! (described me to my friend!) I couldn't believe it, but I'm sorry I never got to meet him face to face. My roommate's brother saw him at a bar here a couple of times, but didn't call us! So many missed opportunities! Anyway, that is the story of my life... Tim went into a chat row after his "official" interview. I was lucky enough to get there. It was great!! He (RothTim) started out in row 2, and then switched to row 10, hence the numbers following people's names. It might be a little hard to follow, but it'll be worth working through it. IMs are Instant Messages, if that helps decipher this at all. They are messages that one person can send privately to someone else, but they can prevent that person receiveing them from doing anything.
