Hollywood's rich and famous home in on pricey properties.

For a Hollywood player, they are three of the most important words in the industry. No, not the Ivy's booked--but rather location, location, location. In a town where property transactions are as closely monitored as production deals, real estate is one of the glammiest of glam businesses. "[Celebrity] homes are more high profile than ever because these days there are so few high-end properties available," says Michele Hall, estates director at Coldwell Banker Previews in Los Angeles. "Real estate is cocktail conversation. If you're looking for a new house, people know." Given that, here's some recent activity on the celeb home front.

PURCHASED Historic 5,630-square-foot Mediterranean villa; 5 BR, 5 BTH; in upscale Pasadena PRICE Approximately $1.9 million

According to an insider, the clincher for actor Tim Roth and his wife, fashion designer Nikki Butler, was this home's architectural pedigree. Built in 1924, the structure was designed by prominent architects Reginald Johnson, Gordon B. Kaufmann, and Roland Coate, known for their influence on Southern California's ubiquitous Italian and Spanish-revival mansions.

Note from the webmaster: I'm leaving out the info on all the other stars' homes.

The Los Angeles Times also had this to say about the new home:

Roth and his wife purchased a Mediterranean-style villa, with five bedrooms, a library, butler's pantry and breakfast room. . . . [T]he home also has a courtyard and gardenviews.
