57th Cannes Film FestivalThe festival was held May 12-23, 2004. Tim was president of the Camera d'Or jury, which rewards a first-time filmmaker. 
Tim attended the premiere of Bad Education which opened the festival on May 12. 
On May 16, Tim attended the premiere of Kill Bill Vol. 2 with Tilda Swinton. 
The premiere of The Ladykillers was held on May 18, and Tim attended with other members of the Camera d'Or jury. 
Also on May 18, Tim participated in a SAGIndie round table discussion. 
On May 19, Tim attended the premiere and after party for The Motorcycle Diaries. 
Tim attended the film premiere of De-Lovely with his wife on May 22. 
During the closing ceremony, Tim and Diane Kruger presented the Camera d'Or to Keren Yedaya. 
2004 Los Angeles Film FestivalThe festival was held June 17-26, 2004 and Tim participated in the Actors Coffee Talk. 
2004 Paris Cinema Film FestivalThe festival was held June 28 - July 13, 2004. Tim and Helen Mirren introduced a screening of The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover as part of a tribute to Peter Greenaway. There was also a screening of The War Zone as part of the "Paris to London and Back" series.
