What kind of background does Tim come from?

There is a myth that follows Tim that he comes from a lower-middle class family. However, this appears to be untrue. He lived in a "nice" South London suburb (the same one Margaret Thatcher lived in), which was probably middle- to upper-middle class. His father, Ernie, was a journalist and his mother, Anne, a landscape painter. He has one older sister. Following in his mother's footsteps he attended art school, but after one year dropped his sculpting aspirations in favor of acting.
