Synopsis
A dramatization of the life of Solidarity leader Chaplain Father Jerzy Popieluszko. Set during the Solidarity Movement in Poland in 1981, the film tells the story of Father Alec, who preaches support for human rights. His politics draw him to the attention of the Communists. Dedicated police officer, Stefan, undertakes an investigation and develops a growing obsession with the charismatic priest. Stefan fears and hates Father Alec as a threat to his country, but at the same time is drawn to him personally.
